On October 16, we went to the 3rd German US-Convention in Rodgau (Frankfurt, Germany).

No question, it was a great exhibition with several high level layouts and dioramas. We (American Railroadfans in Switzerland) got a very warm welcome by Horst Meier, the organizer and chairman. We were able to display posters and flyers of our 15th Convention.

We sure met a lot of people and several exhibitors were asking to participate at our 15th convention.
Many people asked us, will it really be the final CV? We are sorry to say yes, but it is true.

We also met Pelle Soeborg of Denmark and he confirmed his attentance at our 15th CV with clincis. We are thrilled to have the best model layout builder (master of landscaping) at our CV. (official website)

I was able to talk to Frank Angsted (CEO of Intermountain Railway Co.). He will (if his health will remain as it is today with 76 years) participate with a booth and in addition, he will make a presentation about his company and the far east builders. After all, I understand what happened in China with Sando Kan and Kader. (official website)

The NMRA (USA) formed a new division: the Atlantic District. It is hosted in Europe by Alain Kap.  (www.nmraatlantic.org). There were 2 gentlemen of the British Division with a booth. They confirmed their appearance at our 15th CV. Rolf Stumpf (Rail Media) will again have a booth and also Uwe Brilmayer (Brima) will join us with a booth (he is the owner of our former CV-Caboose).

Starting in 2012, Peter Federmann will publish an online Magazine "Ameri Bahner", written in German  (www.ameribahner.com). He will have a small booth or just run an ad in our CV-Guide. In addition, Jürgen Hofmann, Epoche III (Modelleisenbahnbeleuchtungstechnik und Gebäudemodellbau) is interested to participate at our CV (www.epocheIII.de). These two "new" exhibitors have been aquired by Beat Wüest. Therefore, we can tell, to go all the way to Frankfurt Germany (450 km), it was worth and positive for our forthcoming event. I thank everybody for their support. It is highly appreciated.

This is a brief information of our 15th Convention for interested advertisers (manufacturers/importers/distributors) and of course for our previous advertisers as we highly appreciate their participation, again.
Our Conventions are held every three years in Adliswil, a suburb of Zürich. Our Event (15th CV) will cover approx. 30'000 square feet of North American Railroading! There will be international exhibitors with models, dioramas and layouts from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Switzerland.
Of course, our convention cannot be compared with a big NMRA convention but it still includes a lot of activities like the big ones are having: clinics, workshops, slide- and movie-shows, operating layouts in Z, N, TT, HO, O, LGB, HOn3, On3 and Gn3 scale, bookstore, video/dvd-shop, swap meet, art-corner, booth of well known RR-Shops in the US-Scene incl. Old Pullman, Trainmaster and a travel agency (Maya Travel Inn) as well. Our official convention dinner will take place on Saturday evening at a nearby hotel. During the dinner, the convention awards will be given away.

By the way, the 14th Convention attracted more than 3300 visitors and it reflects an increase of 20 %. No question, it was a great success with special guests from the USA: George W. Kohs of Kohs & Company, Inc. (high end brass models producer) and Mike Wolf of M.T.H. Electric Trains (one of the biggest producers of HO, O and 1/32 scale models).
