This is the UP (former SP) Coast main line.  Visitors to the US are encouraged to take this trip along our beautiful California coastline. Modelers of Surfliner trains should find the photos helpful. The trains operate in push-pull mode with a locomotive on one end and a cab control car on the other end.

Grand Canyon Railway
On October 15, 2010 my wife and I rode the Grand Canyon Railway train from Williams, Arizona to the Grand Canyon and back. It was a wonderful trip. We rode a former California Zephyr dome car, the Grand View, to the Canyon and an open platform parlor-observation car, the Chief, on the return trip. Details of all the Grand Canyon Ry. equipment can be found on their very fine website,  http://www.thetrain.com/  Current locomotives are former Amtrak F40PH class, re-geared and re-designated F40FH. For those of you coming to the U.S. I highly recommend this ride. (BHJ)
